Division Nr. 538

Ave amici,

Who can provide me here with a detailed order of battle for the Division Nr. 538 which was disbanded April 1941 after the end of Jugoslawien Campaign. The division was made up from various Customs, Gebirgs and Grenzwacht detachments along the northern German-Yugoslav border in Carinthia. Anxiously trying to get some reports about this Division's actions in Northern Yugoslavia in April 1941. Can anyone help?

From Nafziger

Formed 09/12/39 in Klagenfurt by the renaming of the 20th Border Defense detachment on the German/Italian & German/Yugo borders.

Called up for duty on March 28th 1941, and quickly stood down again.

The division contained 193rd Border Watch Detachment (not mobilised in '41) plus 194th& 195th Border Watch Detachments

Just looked briefly in S.Mitchums "Hitlers Legions" and he states that division wasn't disbanded till 1943?
