LSSAH PSW Location Poland 1939

Hi guys,

Due to some recent 'wins' in the location game recently, I thought I would throw this one out in the hope someone may know something more about it. I have two photos in my collection of LAH Panzerspaehwagen crossing the square of a destroyed Polish town. I suspect the footage may have come from the trip towards Prague after the conflict had ended.

As the vehicles have had their Balkenkreuzen blacked out in the centre it is certainly later in the conflict.

The main building appears to be some sort of town hall, but it has eluded me so far. Hopefully someone my know something.

Cheers
Steve

Hi guys,

I believe this location may be Wieruszow, taken on the journey from Sochaczew to Prague after the cnflict was over.

Can anyone confirm this?

Cheers
Steve

Hello,

It's Złoczew, a small town burned down on 3/4.09.1939 probably by soldiers from Infanterie-Regiment 95 or other 17 Inf.Div. unit. You can compare it with this photo: https://fotopolska.eu/Zloczew/u162235,R ... 92233-foto

Hi,

Thanks so much for this, after 8 years I had pretty much given up with this one! The photos do indeed come from the LSSAH withdrawal from Poland on their way to Prague after the campaign.

Brilliant, thanks so much once again!
Cheers
Steve
