This is an old thread but it completely matches a research subject I've been tinkering with. I'm looking for a reasonably accurate list of Leibstandarte's total casualties for the war. I know it started as a regiment before becoming a brigade and then a division but that doesn't bother me. I didn't expect a perfect run online but I have been surprised that some figures are very hard to find.

I'm hoping that those of you with the relevant books or other records might be able to fill in the gaps. Anyway, what I have is here -

1st SS Regt/Division casualties – 1939-45

Poland : 108 KIA, 292 wounded, 3 MIA or 123 / 326 / 3

France :

Greece : 93 KIA, 225 wounded, 3 MIA

Barbarossa (Jun 41 – Summer 42) : 1,246 KIA

Russia Jan - Mar 43 : 1,080 KIA, 2,752 wounded, 350 MIA.

‘Karkov & surrounding battles’ : 7,293

Kursk : 474 KIA, 2,279 wounded

Italy (Aug - Oct 43) :

Russia Oct 43- Mar 44 :

Normandy : 3,901 total to 30 Sep (one source but other estimates are 5,000+)

Ardennes :

Hungary :

Other - Berlin?

Some figures I've found here on the Forum, others are vague or in conflict. Not being able to find casualties for France 1940 surprised me the most. The Karkov figure may also include Kursk? Berlin is probably too hard.
Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated!
John
