With which vehicles was the PzAufklAbt 116 equipped? Thanks to Martin Block I already found this:
While I don't know the exact whereabouts of Pz.A.A. 116 during those days, I at least can confirm that in early Nov 1944 there were about a dozen Sd.Kfz. 250/1 available with the 3./Pz.A.A. 116 and a dozen Sd.Kfz. 250/9 in the 1./Pz.A.A. 116.
The 13 Sdkfz. 234/1 and 3 Sd.Kfz. 234/3 allocated during July 1944 were given to the Stabs-Kp./Pz.Aufkl.Abt. 116.
9 respectively 2 of them were still reported by early Nov 1944.
Don't know if they carried any tactical numbers. AFAIR I have so far only seen one 234/3 abandoned in Normandy with the 'Windhund' divisional marking on the left front but no visible tactical markings on the left side the vehicle.
If fully equipped in accordance with K.St.N. 1109(gp)(fG) v. 1.11.1944 Stab un Stabskp. should have had available:
133 O, NCO and OR, 8x 234/1, 7x 234/3, 7x 251/3, 1x 251/8, 2x 251/11, 6 motorbikes, 4 passenger cars
In early Nov 1944 Stb. u. Stbs.Kp. Pz.A.A. 116 actually had 9x 234/1, 2x 234/3, 6x 251/3, 1x 251/8, 1x 251/11. Don't have data on actual personnel strength or numbers of cars and motorbikes available.

With what where the other Kp's equipped? Any numbers?
All help is appreciated.

In one of the books of Dugdale "Panzer Divisions, Panzer Grenadier Divisions, Panzer Brigades" the number of armoured vehicles as per 1-12-1944 is mentioned. Is that what you're looking for?

You should note that the SdKfz 250's in 1.Kp must have included the SdKfz 250/9's as that is the company to which they would have belonged.(I was writing this even as the post above went up

).

Amazing, Bram, thanks for that file. At the end there are numbers listed such as "4" "2" "7" .. But nothing written in the above tables, are these the listed numbers (of unknown type) of vehicles of the unit?

There are more amaizing details about November 1944: the number of soft skinned vehicles.
And I think that the number of vehicles without a column name are "other" vehicles.

Hi,
just found this old thread.
This unit was part of the Windhund division and my grandfather served in the 3. Kp. of PzAufklAbtlg 116.
Are there any infos or sources?

Hi Michael,
The best way to start is to find NARA rolls regarding this panzerdivision via
www.sturmpanzer.com. A good start might be T-314 R-1298, that contains the war diaray with annexes regarding 1945, but this seems to be not feely available on the internet.
Other NARA rolls that are more generic might contain information, like the ones in this thread. But it is hard to find which ones.
Best wishes Bram

There's a divisional history of 116. Panzer-Division published in 1994 that was written by Heinz Günther Guderian who was the division Ia staff officer, with maps and order of battle information in the appendices
Das letze Kriegsjahr im Westen
Die Geschichte der 116. Panzer-Division
