What were the regiments of the 3. ID (mot.) [3rd Motorized Infantry Division] ? The other question is when the Division approached Dvinsk at the end of June one regiment was sent to the right flank while bulk of the division crossed behind 8. Panzer-Division which regiment or kampf group was this ?

Thanks in advance

Thank You.
So it was 8 and 29 Regiments that were with the Division in June 1941. Does any one know how the regiments were deployed at Dunaberg ?

Thanks again

Hi,

Yes, both Regiments were involved.

In the beginning (starting on June 26th, 1940) under the command of 8. Panzer-Division.

Also have a look here: http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Gli ... PGrenD.htm

Maybe my question is a little vague. One regiment of this division deployed into the bridgehead at Dvinsk, the other was diverted to Skrudaliena on the left flank where it crossed the river further up stream. Which regiment moved through Skrudaliena ?
