Generäle zbV I to IV, 1940-1941

Hello,

Could anyone provide informations about these four staffs?
They were active from Spring 1940 to Spring 1941, and I guess that they were used as rear area administrative staffs. But it's only a guess and I'd like to be more affirmative.

Thank you for your help.
Cheers,

Hi

it's always helpful to know where and in which context do you find these staffs

Hello Uwe,

I found mentions to these four staffs in several occasions.
First, it was when I was doing research about the Grenz-Regiment "Clüvert" (later Sicherungs-Regiment 16) when it was deployed at the Belgian-Dutch border in June 1940. One of these Generäle zbV was in charge of the Heeresgruppe "B" rear area.
Then, I found them mentioned in all the schematischen Kriegsgliederungen for January to May 1941. There were deployed under Militärbefehlshaber in Belgien und Nordfrankreich (General zbV III), Militärbefehlshaber in Frankreich (General zbV I) and under Chef der Heeresrüstung und Befehlshaber des Ersatzheeres (General zbV II).

It appears that they were transformed in "Berück" (Befehlshaber der Rückwärtigen Heeresgebiete) 101, 102 and 103 prior to "Barbarossa", so it enforces the idea that they were rear area security and administrative staffs.

I'm eager to know what were their tasks and responsibilities.

I found something about them here: http://www.axishistory.com/axis-nations ... amed-korps.

Best regards from France,
