There is no report from 3. Panzergrenadier-Division on 1 September. On 31 August 1943 they reported 5 PzBefhl on hand and ready, 42 StuG on hand with 37 ready.

Hello, Richard, may you help me on Operational StuG or Panzer stength of 3. 29 and 90. PanzerGrenadier divisions on Aug 31 1943 ? I want to know their strength during German intervention in Italy in early September 1943 though some divisions had suffered dearly in evacuation of Sicily and Sardinia, may you help me on those topic ? Thank.

Well, I gave you Pz. Abtl. 103.

For 29. Pz.Gren. on 1 September it was 3 PzBefl on hand and ready (for some reason the OKH report for 31 August gave 1), 37 StuG on hand with 5 in repair less than two weeks. There were also 21 sPak (Sfl) on hand with 4 in repair less than two weeks.

90. Pz.Gren. report is for 31 August.

1 Pz III (l) on hand and ready These appear variously as PzII in the OKH Panzerlage 10 September-20 December, as PzIII k (5cm L42) in the OKH Panzerlage August-10 September and after 20 December, and not at all in the OKH Panzerlage. It is assumed that they were actually PzIII k (5cm L42)
20 Pz III (k) on hand with 4 in repair less than two weeks
38 Pz IV (L43) on hand with 3 in repair less than two weeks
7 StuG on hand with 1 in repair less than two weeks
4 PzBeob on hand with 1 in repair less than two weeks

1 Pz III (l) on hand and ready These appear variously as PzII in the OKH Panzerlage 10 September-20 December, as PzIII k (5cm L42) in the OKH Panzerlage August-10 September and after 20 December, and not at all in the OKH Panzerlage. It is assumed that they were actually PzIII k (5cm L42)

Hello, Richard, thank so much for your information on 29 and 90. PanzerGrenadier Divisions, very helpful and very much appreciated. :D

Regarding 3. PG division, it is my typo error, what I want to know is Panzer/StuG or panzerjager strength of 15.PanzerGrenadier division, may you help me on that ? Thank

The 31 August report was 1 Pz III (l) on hand and ready, 17 Pz IV (l) on hand with 9 in repair less than two weeks, 21 StuG on hand with two in repair less than two weeks.

Pz. Abt.103 was sent on to Salerno front and they were in the town in the evening of 13th September. Their operating areas were Fratte, Pezzano, Filetta and support to Panzergrenadier troops on hills like Pimple hill and White Cross Hill. They suffred some casualties on 14th and 15th during attacks against 7th Ox's & Bucks and other troops like Commandos and 40th Tank Regiment.

It does not appear they lost any StuG during the Salerno operations. On hand was maintained as 42 in reporting of 20 and 30 September and 10 October. It was not until the 20 October report that it fell to 41.

Hello, Richard, did 3. PanzerGrenadier division still had nine Panzerjager I in Sept 1943 which I see it had those vehicles on June 30 1943, but I don't whether still in use as it was very outdated vehicles.

Regarding the total number of StuG possessed by Pz Abt.129, did this include 3./Pz.Abt. 129 which was under 26.Pz division on Sept 1 1943 ? Thank

Sorry, but no we do not know the battalion strengths or losses at Salerno. We can only infer total division losses from contradictory data since no report for the division elements engaged exists to my knowledge. Instead, there is a total loss figure inferred for 9-30 September of 183 KIA, 309 WIA, 268 MIA, and 350 sick.

Hi, Richard , did 26. Pz.Division not have any panzer on Sept 1 1943 when she went to Salerno ? its report on that day shows nothing in Pz but had 268 SPW ready for action. What she have is 11 StuG provided by 3./Pz. Abt. 129 ? Thank
