Unit marking from officer visor 7./ J.R. 81 I

I found this unit designation stamped into the inside of a white piped NCO hat. I am not well versed in how to decode these markings but is it 7th Bn. of the 81st Jaeger rgt? If it is, then I am not sure this unit had a 7th Bn??

And what does the letter I (eye) mean at the end.
