Re: KStN Organisation chart of II. SS-Panzerkorps
Hello,
a short question that must have a long and complex answer.
A high level information on the organization of II SS PZ Korps may be found on the lexicon of Wehrmacht site (at this link http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Gli ... zKorps.htm) or in the Gliederung section of WW2 Day by Day site (http://www.wwiidaybyday.com/), the situation at 16th september 44 gives this unit, with two PzDiv SS, in reserve of Army Group B, we know that these units were reorganising themselves near Arnehm, in Holland…
As you can see there are a lot of missing data about the organization of this unit, in particular about the GHQ units controlled by the Korps: in particular from 44 onwards it usually controlled a SS Tiger Battalion.
If you give us some specific indication about the date you are interested in perhaps someone can find more detailed specific data about the composition of this Korps at a specific moment.
This information is a prerequisite for speaking about KStN, too. KStN are specific for every company size unit (and also for many platoon size), that implies that in every moment this Korps was formed by tens, if not hundreds, of units with a specific KStN, and at each moment with a different mix.
Always present it is the Korps HQ, a unit with KStN number 15, from 42 the version of march 42 was used until the end of the war, you find it in Sturmpanzer site at this link http://www.sturmpanzer.com/Default.aspx ... em=3&sec=1 , at page 100 of the document H1/2 of the download list. A further level of complexity it is that this is a SS unit, that often made variation to standard Army KStN, usually adding some reinforcement to the standard organization.
If you give some more information about what you need, it is possible to find something of interest for you.
I hope that this was useful,
Regards
Max

For a theoretical organization try here: http://www.sturmpanzer.com/Default.aspx ... em=3&sec=0
go to: T78R409 - H1/104.2 - Kriegsgliederung des Feldheeres Band II: Stand Mai 1944
see page 27 of that pdf-file.
