Post by hj1985 » 30 May 2019, 08:54

Hi mate

Can anyone tell me, in below picture which would be the tactical symbol for a Sdkfz251/9 which is part of the schwarze Kompanie in Panzer Grenadier Batailon?

Many thanks!

If it was part of the schwere Kompanie then it would have the Panzer Grenadier sysmbol with the company number beside it. That would be the rectangle with the wheel and track beneath it, second row from the top, third from the left. It might even have an upwards pointing arrow within the rectangle.

Thank you my friend. "It might even have an upwards pointing arrow within the rectangle." that would be the 4th row, the second from the right, correct?

Having said all this, I have never seen an SdKfz 251/9 with a tactical marking applied to it. I think this would be for two reasons, first because it was fairly obvious what the vehicle was and second because they more usually had the three figure tactical number painted on their side.
That is not to say that there weren't vehicles with the old tactical marking, just that I've not seen them.

I wasn't clear enough, I meant the tactical sign with the Arrow inside the rectangle.
