Looking for information on KStN 1129 - v16.01.1943?

Hello all,

I am trying to determine if there is a KStN specific to the schwere Wurfgerät on m.gp.Zgkw (Sd.Kfz. 251 Stuka). I did not find anything in Panzer Tracts 15.X or online so I decided to just browse the KStN listings in Tessin. Both the Nebeltruppen and Panzergrenadier listings.

I came across KStN 1129 - 16.01.1943 (not to be confused with 1129 - 01.08.1944 which is for the Drilling) which is labeled: (T.E.) Panz.Gren. Werf.Zg. (Sfl.)

This seems promising as it seems to be a panzergrenadier self-propelled werfer unit. However, I cannot find this KStN. Does anyone know if a copy of this KStN has been found or have insight into what vehicle this KStN was for? Actually, I would be interested in any documentation that mentions this KStN.

Many thanks,
Richard

There was no specific KStN for a unit equipped with mSPW fitted with rocket launcher frames. The rockets were considered as ammunition, and the frames on the mSPW as equipment. Both were to be found in the KAN for units equipped with mSPW, usually engineers.

KStN = Kriegsstärkenachweisung = Table of Organization
KAN = Kriegsausrüstungsnachweisung = Table of Equipment

I think that KStN 1129 dated 16.01.1943 refers to a mortar mounted in a mSPW, not a rocket launcher. The removable frame that made up the Stuka zu Fuß had the designation Wurfrahmen 40. It was fixed to the halftrack, holding up to six rockets in their packing/firing crates.

<Mr. Picky" The schweres Wurfgerät 40 (wood) and 41 (metal) were static launching frames holding four rockets in their crates.</Mr. Picky>

Thanks Leo, I appreciate the quick and thorough reply. I figured it was a long shot but apparently, I was way off on the unit type.

Thanks also for the clarification on the schweres Wurfgerät.

Richard
