Kampf Bataljon Gramms

Post by wamkievits » 04 Jun 2019 20:44

Hi all, in documenting the history of the fighting southeast of Vught in october 1944, we have seen that among other Bataljone that of Gramse was a fierce one. I fought at numerous locations and proved to be very skilled. Now we are looking for a last effort to establish more facts about the man and his unit. Therefor my question is if there is any chance to find more detailed information about his unit and maybe even a biography, or description of his military career. Because lack of time I did not ask the question in german which I normally would do, so please apologise me.... Thank you for any help or further directions! Regards, Wim

Good morning Tom and everybody else,
It is very interesting that more people are interested in this area and units. The area Wim is interested in is also where I'm doing research on.
In my village of Gemonde in september and october 1944 the 1035 Grenadier Regiment, 59th Inf. Div., was stationed until the liberation on the 23rd of october 1944 by the British 51st HD.
I've also the documentation on the German LXXXVIII corps but not very specific on the regiments of the 59th Inf. Div.
Do you have more info on these units in regards to this period of september/october 1944?
Thank you very much!
