Re: tank number
Then it might mean that the tank was the units Adjutant's. Or it might be the unit commander's vehicle with others being B/C/etc but who knows for sure.

Re: tank number
destroyed by a bullet but it is A51, so 5.kompanie?
Re: tank number
Tanks from the 16th Panzer division in Italy. In the background – a tank with a number "A21":
I think the pictures are Pz.Beob.III(note the early commander's cupola).Accordingly, these tanks belong to the artillery regiment of the division.

Re: tank number
Now that we have seen the photograph I would agree with Алексей. It isn't a command tank but a BeobPz III of the Artillery.

Re: tank number
Even if this were a normal gun armed tank the number 5 coming in the central position would indicate a Platoon not a Company. Normal turret numbers ran Company, Platoon, Individual Vehicle. But this isn't a normal tank so none of that matters.

Re: tank number
The crew would be a mix of officers and other ranks, in this case they wopuld be artillerymen whose job was spotting for their battery.
