Michael Wittmann film location?

Does anyone know where the film made for propaganda with MW was actually filmed?
trying to do a then and now if possible, the little road etc

The award is a clue. The Newsreel was released 2-8-44. Fame is fleeting!

whew, michael, i am going to take a stab at this

he has the swords and oak leaves correct? and Gunter was with him at Villers, so this is after Villers

but your date confuses me. are you using the US Feb 8 44? cant be right? but aug 2 44 doesnt make sense either since Gunter was killed July 20, 44

oh it was released aug 2, not filmed

i am confused lol

The date the newsreel was released in the theaters is August 3, 1944. Normally the footage you see in a newsreel was shot two weeks prior to the release date. This footage of Wittman riding in his Tiger tank would have most likely been filmed mid July 1944.
