The attached document gives orders for the movement of Fallschirm Panzerjäger Abteilung 1, the Anti-Tank Battalion of the 1st Fallschirmjäger Division. In particular, it orders it to withdraw from the coastal defense positions its was holding and make a road march from the sector of the LI. Gebirgs Korps (51st Mountain Corps), on the Adriatic littoral, to that of the XIV Panzer Korps (14th Armored Corps), near Cassino. (The withdrawal was to take place on 3 March 1944 and the road march on 4 March 1944.)

This, alas, is the only mention of this unit that I have found in the documentation about Cassino battles I have seen.

Does anyone know what role this unit played in the defense of either the town of Cassino or the abby on the mountain?
