Artillerie-Kommandeur organization, July 1941

#1

Post by CNE503 » 15 May 2021, 17:26

Hello,

Could someone please tell me how was organized such a staff in July 1941?
The manpower strength would be great!

It's KStN 24, widely available, eg. from Lexicon, ca. 35 of personnel.

Thank you, indeed I found it on Lexikon (even if it looks like a late war KStN, probably 1945, I don't think that this staff internal organization evolved that much).

Wrong, 24 is the Höh. Arko (or Harko), which was found at Army-level.
The Arko (KStN 25) as of 1.2.1941 is lost, but replaced by the 1.1.1945 version. I still hope to find the original KStN somewhere, so if someone has it, please let me know where to find it!

Copy that, Piet, thank you.
I guess that a Corps Arko in 1941 was around 20-men strong, as in 1945, though.

Personnel wise the Arko did not change a lot.

In T 283 R 146 you find the summary of the October 37 version:
5+2+10 men
2 Pkw
1 LKW
1 bus,
3 motorcycles, of which 2 with sidecar
I hope this was useful for you

Max,

It is, thank you very much!
I guess that the October 1937 organization was not reviewed before 1941, so it was the actual organization at the start of "Barbarossa", right?

Many thanks again!

CNE,
in February 41 a new version of the KStN was issued , we don't know anything about it, as Piet stated.
All the best

Oops, my bad, indeed.
Anyway, 17 men in 1937, 22 in 1945, I guess that the 1941 KStN had not totally changed.

Yes,
in my opinion the 41 KStN had the same vehicles of the 37 version and two or three more men.

In Germandocs in russia site I found (12450 A 84 p 46) a total for KStN 25 in 1941: 23 men, 4 trucks and 3 motorcycles (of which 2 sidecar).
I hope this was useful for you

Max,

If I may ask, could you please give me a link to the document you speak about?

Grazie mille,
