Hello,
I tried to find very specific informations and I got the idea to search in the Bundesarchiv.
However, I am quite totally lost. I don't know how to search and how to open the document.
Can you help me ?
How to search in the Bundesarchiv ?
Re: How to search in the Bundesarchiv ?
Saludos 1999,
Are you referring to searching online? If you have the file number, here is a link that shows you how to look them up
https://blog.sturmpanzer.com/online-doc ... desarchiv/
and here is a youtube video showing how
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWC4uNu1p5s
If, after pulling up the file number, it does not have a link saying "Digitalisat anzeigen" to the right of "Im Kontext anzeigen", then it is not yet available online. Below is an example of a file available online (RH 10/23, highlighted in yellow) and one that is not available online (RH 27-1/1 for the first file that is part of the War Diary for 1st Panzer Division) There is a list of the files that have been digitized up to now
https://www.bundesarchiv.de/EN/Navigati ... fonds.html
For records for WW 2 and prior, you will want to click on the "+" to the right of "Norddeutscher Bund und Deutsches Reich (1867/1871-1945)"
If the file you are looking for is not online yet, your only options are to travel to BAMA in person or pay for the file to be copied, which is quite expensive if it is a large file, but you can request a cost estimate from the archive. If you do not know what the file number is, let me know what you are looking for and I might be able to help you.

Re: How to search in the Bundesarchiv ?
Hi Sam,
Thanks for your answer. You are a great teacher!
I am looking for the number of casualties in the 17th Panzer Division and the 29th Motorized Division between June 22 and June 30.
Another forum participant gave me the file numbers: RH 26-29 and RH 27-17.
However, they are not digitized in the Bundesarchiv. Therefore, we have to search the documents on the jccalvin server: http://wwii-microfilm.blogspot.com/.
Erich
