English translation of Appendix 1 Okdo.d.H.Gr.B. Ia Nr. 3050/44 geh. of 23.6.1944 available
Attached to FMS B-621
RH 32/v.38
Appendix 1 Okdo.d.H.Gr.B. Ia Nr. 3050/44 geh. of 23.6.1944
This report covering the first few weeks of the fighting in Normandy for 716.ID and was submitted to HG B and is included in one of the NARA rolls for HG B and is also included in Sakkers' "Normandie, 6. Juni 1944 Im Spiegel Der Deutschen Kriegstagebucher: Der Grossangriff Auf Den Atlantikwall" in the original German. I have searched online for an English translation but didn't find one so started translating it myself. But before I continued with it I wanted to check to see if there might an English translation already available. Anyone know of one? thanks

Hello Sam, I only have the German version just like you. It has been repeated in English in a truncated fashion in a few works, but this is not meant to help.

I may well be overlooking something, but the German report in FMS B-621 has been translated in the same document. It's available in English at Sturmpanzer.com.
I do not know of any translations of the 14 June Maj.i.G. Bachus report though

On the pages of June 14, we find a report drawn up by the Ost.Btl.642 and another detailing the tactical modalities of the landing in the area of Arromanches and Port en Bessin by two officers of Gr.Rgt.726

Aetius, I assume you're just trying to mention additional documents? I'm asking because I don't see a direct link with the previous posts in this thread.
I'm just trying to determine what Sam is looking for exactly.
The Richter report has 17 pages in German and 17 pages in English in FMS B-621. Unless that is a shorter version of the original report, it would mean the report has been translated in English already.
Since he mentioned Sakkers, I mentioned the Bachus report as that is also in that book. The Nara Microfilm copy of that document has 5 pages. I've not seen an English translation and cannot rule out that the original is longer than 5 pages.

Thanks Niels. I should have looked at the FMS report first, but I remembered the attached to the FMS report to be untranslated. Clearly I can't depend on my memory anymore.
