Does anyone have a Shield for the 406th seems to be a Landesschutzen division ?

Yes in part true until the autumn of 1944, since it switches as a campaign division, always with the suffix zbV in the region of Nimegue. Look about Tessin books.

It was Divisionsstab z.b.V. 406 and commanded the Landesschützen in Wehrkreis VI, but it is difficult to tell what unit was at Grave. Your best resource would be IPW reports by the 82d A/B Div and/or the 504th PIR.

Brady, I have never been able to identify the specific troops who were defending Grave when Market-Garden started but they certainly weren't anything to do with 406 which wasn't activated until after the landings. Sadly Lexikon der wehrmacht doesn't give any details either.
