German Soldier Deaths in Schio Italy 1944

Post by jsommer » 09 Apr 2022 01:45

My uncle Heinz Sommer (b. 1921) was killed in Schio, Vicenza, Italy on 30 Apr 1944. According to his death letter given to the family, he fell in hand-to-hand combat with partisans and had several shots to the head and neck. I've found his military record in Ancestry, but no details are given. Does anyone know of any more information that can be gathered concerning German military deaths?
