Hi all,

I'd like to know under which division/unit did these 3 regiments served during autumn 1944, befor the "Wintergewitter" offensive started on Dez.26th 1944 in Serchio Valley, Italy:

- Hoch.Geb.Jag.Rgt.4
- MG Btl. "Feldmarschall Kesselring"
- Hoch.Geb. Jag. Rgt. "Mittenwald"

One source I read wrote that they were fighting on Abetone, Italy, before being transferred to Serchio Valley.
No info about the unit they belonged to.

Many thanks for your help

from Tessin

Hochgebirgs-Jäger-Bataillon 4 - formed 20.11.1943 from half I./Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 98; rebuilt in WK XVIII with Stab, 1. - 4. and batterie, deployed to Italy
army troops, with 114 Jäger-Division at the end

Maschinengewehr-Bataillon Feldmarschall Kesselring - formed November 1944 in Italy from Regiment 3 Brandenburg with 3 Radfahr und einer schweren Kompanie.
army troops

No "Hochgebirgs-Jäger-Regiment "Mittenwald" listed in Tessin, there is listed a "Hochgebirgsschule Mittenwald " deployed in WKXVIII at Fulpmes from 18.9.1944; Mittenwald is garrison town in WKVII
