2.SS-Div "Das Reich"

#1

Post by steve248 » 13 Jul 2022, 13:47

Dr Franz Alfred Six stated that he was SS-Ustuf d.R. and artillery officer with I./Art.Regt, 2.SS-Div "Das Reich" in June 1941. Possibly on 15 June 1941 he was recalled "by Himmler" to RSHA where he was posted to Einsatzgruppe B to run an "Archivkommando".

I am not familiar with what Waffen-SS material is available from captured records and now on NARA microfilms, or records held at BA-MA Freiburg. Though in previous years I have visited both archives for different reasons.

I would appreciate knowing whether "Das Reich" records exist about posting notices, movement orders or anything else to pin this transfer to a real date?

Would someone know where "Das Reich" was located in the two weeks before Barbarossa?

Thanks
