A new (and better) take on Tiger Tanks

Post by AnchorSteam » 06 Nov 2022 06:36

I saw this and immediatly thought of this place .... for the first time in a long time.

Lazerpig is obnoxious and a bit off, but he does have a habbit of cutting through the BS and eventually making theright call. He first came to my attention with the way he blew the doors in on that whole controversy over the Bradley, especially that "Pentagon Wars" movie.

Thoughts?

Clearly he is a AHF reader as all of that has been revealed here from way back. I also note my concerns about the huge unrecorded drop in the number of 9th SS Panthers is starting to get more coverage.

The Tiger was a great tank but it needed to be used in the proper tactical fashion which was disregarded a lot .

Loss of tigers on the EF 1942/43 in percentage to their inventory counts at the start of each month: (in yellow)

Oh, as far as weapons of war go in general, that happens all the time!

TY for the docs, but I can't read German anymore. I'm about 35 years out of practice.

Thanks for saying so.

Yeah, that guy is pretty obnoxious, plays at being full of himself a little TOO well if you ask me, but he is good as putting his facts together.

On that second thread you link: one user says “10th SS probably had a few panthers left”

According to Zetterling 10th SS didn’t have its Panther Battalion with it at all during the Normandy fighting; it simply didn’t participate in the campaign.

He is fun, but I do think he exaggerates some things.

Personally, while I do agree with a lot of points LazerPig makes, I agree more with the Chieftain's take:
