the only vehicles I know of that could be considered self propelled sFH would be the sdkfz135/1, the Hummel and the Grille.
But the SdkFz 135/1 was only used in africa, 21 panzer, and on the westwall as far as i know, and iirc Hummel/Grille were only ever issued to Panzer/Panzergrenadier divisions -?
The article on lexiconderwhermacht of Artillery regiment 40 offers nothing, other than placing it in the correct area of the front, ie. AG south

s,F.H./Sf. would certainly indicate the G.W.III/IV f. 15cm s.F.H. 18/1 (Sf.) "Hummel". I wish I could remember what "P.E." abbreviated in organizational documents was but in context it probably refers to the 4. Batterie lost at Stalingrad. Another clue is that when it was rebuilt after its destruction at Jassy it became the Artillerie-Abteilung of Führer-Grenadier-Brigade.

I think "P.E" is 'Personnel Only'. No principal weapon platforms present.

That likely then was referring to the 4. Batterie.
