There is a whole branch of troops raised or to be raised in a mobilization.

What is the strenght, organization and function of these
Troops?

Searching through the "Lexikon der Wehrmacht" website, there are only five hits for the term 'Sicherheitsbesatzung'.

From those results, it looks like Sicherheitsbesatzung was a mission to which any troops could be assigned as required.

The function appears to have been providing troop presence in a designated area for the purpose of controlling said area, but I could be mistaken.

You can see the hits here:

Correction.

The subject was not found in Keilig,W but in
Burkhart Mueller-Hille
Brand's "Das Heer" Band 1 page 59.

Sorry for the mistake i made.

Kay.

Thanks for providing the reference.

Looking at what Mueller-Hillebrand wrote, it looks like what I wrote above about this being more of a mission concept than a formal type of unit in the German armed forces. In terms of the 1936-37 planning that is mentioned, it sounds like elements of the Grenzwacht would have, in time of mobilization, been assigned the mission of physically securing the bunkers that protected Germany's eastern border.

The closest unit type related to this mission I can think of would be the numerous fortress infantry and artillery units organized in the last year or so of the war.

Cheers
