In a report of the German Military Mission in Romania and in the KTB of Pz. AOK 4 I have seen brief mentions of German and Italian alarm units that were specifically mustered to stop and reassemble fleeing elements of the Romanian armies in the first week of the Soviet counteroffensive. Does anyone know to whom these might've been subordinated, or where one could find reports or traces of their activity? Unfortunately I can't provide names, designations, numbers, or anything else really - I have seen only one incident explicitly mentioned, and it concerned the interception of some Romanian units at the Tinguta railway station by German forces on the 20th of November.
