Here is some further information concerning that period:

Franz Bereznyak – Bericht:

So according to Bereznyak Pehrsson left a SS-Ustuf. and returned a SS-Ostuf. He also mentions Führerlehrgang, which makes me believe it was a Kompanie-Führer-Lehrgang. But it seems to have been somewhere close by since the time frame is really short. Maybe he attended a course with SS-Pz.Aufkl.Ausb.u.Ers.Abt.1 or 2 at the Truppenübungsplatz Seelager(Dondangen)?
Weisz mentions that they met "Person" already on 19 July. This puts him in the area, but not specifically with 3.Kompanie, perhaps he was looking for it when Lohse made contact with him?
I see three possibilities based on the information presented here:
1.) Perhaps he found the 3. Kompanie the same day or during the next few day.
2.) He returned earlier from the course since Seelager was beginning to transform into combat units, and became Zugführer in 3. Kompanie or z.b.V. in AA 11.
3.) He did not find 3.Kompanie until 2 August and immediately assumed command. During that period I have SS-Ustuf. Wilhelm Högg with the company and as a potential temporary commander.

Sorry, this is all I have, I'm still analyzing the information I have. Primarily I am looking to identify all the places they were at and also I am interested in the period around 24. August, when Panzerkampfgruppe von Strachwitz was engaged in an armored battle around Elva, Estland. I believe parts of SS-Pz.Aufkl.Abt. 11 were engaged in these as well, but still look for concrete proof.

It sounds likely that he was away on the course as SS-Ustuf and returned as SS-Ostuf. As he is on a photo dated 12.7.44 he must have been back with the unit by then, and I find it quite hard to belive that he would leave the unit in the midst of the fighting, so I would guess he resumed command of the kompanie directly after Ahrens was KIA, and not on 2.8.44.

Hello Jan,

Could you please tell me the source for the information? It is very interesting that Wolfgang Eldh-Albiez is to have served with the 3./SS-PZ-Aufkl.-Abt. 11 during june 1944!

About Pehrssons promotion: Pehrsson was atleast back with the 3./SS-Pz-Aufkl-Abt 11 on the 28.6.44, just a week after his promotion. I have no evidence that he participated in his course in june really, but I just have a hard time seeing that he would leave the unit while it was engaged in Latvia.

Hi
I'm researching the history of my uncle Kaj Gustav Feilberg. He ended up fighting in Berlin as Kp.Kdr. of the 4. Kp./Pz.AA. Nordland. He has passed away now. I'm thinking of making a film documentary about my two uncles one in the SS and the other in prison in Neuengammen. It all left the family with a kind of trauma. But time has been healing and now I would like to know the what happend back then. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello Lars,

I tried sending you a PM but for some reason it's stuck in my outbox. If you are interested in information about Kaj Gustav Feilberg, please contact me via PM and for the sake of easier communication, please enclose an e-mail address. I have been working on a long, but still incomplete, biography on Kaj and can help you.

Hello community,

I'm a new member and I'm researching the history of my uncle Gerhard Paschek. He is born in Hermannstadt, Rumänien and served in the unit since the founding in 1943 an the training at Grafenwöhr. His Feldpost-Nr. was 33756C and his rank radio operator.
He is missing since his last combat in the area of Buckow -Strausberg, the location and circumstances of his death are still unknown.
According to an eyewitness, the date was given 20th April and the place 50 km from Berlin, hit by stalin organ, no further details known.
According to the information red in this forum and from others found at the internet, also from the Booklet of Poller, Herbert and the book of Tieke, Wilhelm: "The End between Oder and Elbe" is a probable place at the airfield of Strausberg, but there is no official confirmation.
Who of you members has knowledge about my uncle, his comrades and nationality, wich Kompanie he served also date and place of death.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards
Wolfwgs

Hello,

Feldpost-Nr. 33756C belonged to 2./SS-Pz.A.A.11 (2.Kompanie der SS-Pz.A.A.11). As Paschek was from Romania, he was likely recruited during late spring or summer of 1943 and joined his company at the end of July or beginning of August.

The already weak battalion suffered many casualties on 20 April 1945, particularly around the small village of Hohenstein, about 8km east of Strausberg, and later that day division Nordland occupied positions on the eastern outskirts of Strausberg. As the soviet pressure grew too strong, the battalion and entire division withdrew via Strausberg, finally abandoning the town entirely during the night.
