This Wappen is on a car belonging to a unit of the Heer arriving to Norway in June 1941 and stationed in Finnmark county from July 1941. I believe it was an artillery unit. Anybody that know which unit?

It almost looks like a Luftwaffe adler to me.

Yes, that was also my first impression, but the unit is clearly Heer and likely Heeresartillerie, the Wappen is visible on different cars (Lkw, Pkw) with the unit - all of them with licence plate of the Heer (WH-xxxxxx).

Maybe the car belonged to some Luftwaffe liaison officers who coordinated the actions between Heer and Luftwaffe?

Just a suggestion...

No doubt - this Adler is from the Luftwaffe. Greetings from Denmark.

Ove if he says that the emblem is on several vehicles with license WH-xxxxxx it is NOT a eagle related to the Luftwaffe. Many Heer units had eagles in their emblem.

But I have doubt. Take a look on this one, on a Lkw with WH-plates. The eagle is holding something that is not a zwastika. Not an obvious Luftwaffe adler, I would say.

The emblem is unknown to me. If you like we can add it to my unknown unit emblems section.

When I say Luftwaffe – this also include Faldschirmjäger regiments. I agree, that WH normally means, that this number plate is from Wehrmacht-Heer, but the wings on this eagle looks very much as a Luftwaffe eagle.
