sorry my information was a bit outdated.Vikki wrote:Heimatschuss wrote:
Actually the photo is complete as you can notice when downloading it. It's just the viewer function here which cuts off all beyond 600 (or is it 650?) pixels width when you use the 'Insert picture' button to integrate it into the text.
Best regards

Thanks Torsten. Is the maximum size smaller using the "Insert Picture" button than with simply posting? The maximum size on normally posted photos, I know, is 800 pixels wide x 2000 high: http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... ilit=pixel
Best,

800 pixels wide x 2000 high is indeed the maximum size for pictures you want to upload here with the 'Add' function.
A bigger size is simply impossible. After adding it the photo is always displayed at the lower end of the page beneath your text in full size.
If you want to integrate an uploaded photo into the text you have to place the cursor on the desired position and then press the 'Place inline' button.
In former times only the 700 leftmost pixels of this pic were shown to avoid covering the avatar, name and so on in the right column. Those (maximum) 100 rightmost pixels were simply not visible.
This has been changed some time ago. A scoll bar under the integrated pictures has been added so you can now access the 100 rightmost pixels too. You have of course always just a limited excert of the picture (if it's wider than 700 pixels). This may optically unbalance pictures on some occasions but is otherwise o.k.
If you want to use pictures that are stored outside of the forum somewhere else on the internet you can use the 'Img' button. Just put the URL into the text, mark the URL and press 'Img'. There is no limitation in width to 800 pixels this time because the file is not uploaded here. On the other hand the old limitation to the 700 leftmost pixels is still valid in this case. There is no scroll bar with which to access the rest of the picture. This is what happened in Hundi's case. If you want to see what's on the right side of a large pic you have to download it on your PC and view it there.
And after so many technicalities: Bring in some more horses and other Wehrmacht pets, people!
Best regards
