Does anyone know of any post-Drvar testimonies of survivors (and before the (re)formation of the Btl.)?

Exceedingly dangerous work that can lead to hard feelings about who is assigned to enter. In this formation, his daughter told me that her father said that there were 25 Italians in the 500th at the time of the raid on Tito. They were being used like tissue paper. The man was very experienced with partisans, and I believe both mustard gas and sarin were used in small scale engagements in Yugoslavia by both German and Italian select forces. In one case the Germans set off a small explosion at the mouth of the cave while he was inside,he was forced to run as fast as he could out the other end.B soldaten came in handy as well I suppose.Sid Guttridge wrote: ↑10 Jan 2023 18:41Hi ColCalgary,
The Romanians had to work their way through the catacombs of Odessa for years without ever entirely clearing them.
Caves are common natural features. There is one barely 200 yards from where I sit. It seems probable that virtually every army on the offensive in WWII must have had to deal with caves at some stage. I know of none who had specialist caving troops. It was presumably the poor bloody infantry that had to do that everywhere.
Cheers,
Sid.

Hi ColCalgary,
"I believe" and third hand Chinese whispers aren't really hard evidence. Do you have anything more substantive?
Cheers,
Sid.

28 years together Sid.Only one person on this planet he told his experiences in full except for one thing..And now she regrets telling me.
Hitler was deathly afraid of chemical warfare. The Italians considered this category of clandestine warfare even in the late 30s as seen in Palestine, with obvious back channels employed by Ciano.
She knew the name.
Farben.
Described how it was used.Mixed with a small amount of water and it decomposes within about 24 hours.
The Germans supplied.
The Italians used.
Early in the war Yugoslavia.
Blackshirt>M Battalion>Special formation that communicated with OVRA by word only.Nothing written down.Nicknamed White Shirts, dressed like businessmen. Partisans targeted at their homes.
Cold fireplace.Partisan returns home and starts cooking dinner.Done.No evidence.

This man appears prominently in an early Pic of the 500th.
I know exactly what they were doing in early 44 in Yugoslavia.
His widow will be 105 this year.I will wait.
