SS-Panzer-Späh Ers. Kp

Hi guys,

I recently bought this repro photo of a SdKfz 231, with the number plate 70561, which identifies it belonging to the SS-Panzer-Späh Ers. Kp.

Does anyone have any information of the formation/location of this unit?

It looks like the dome of the Berlin Lichterfelde barracks in the background, or am I totally wrong?

Here is the picture, thanks in advance;

Cheers
Steve

Full name (at least in late 1940 and 1941) was Panzerspäh-Ersatzkompanie Ellwangen and I suppose this was also their location. It was the replacement pool for personell for the armoured car units in the Waffen-SS. Could have been part of the Kradschützen-Ersatzbataillon Ellwangen? I will have to check for further info.

Hope this helps,
Timo
