Another one, well known, at corbis, to me the best war picture ever, a larger version is to see at the corbis site:

neat theme for this thread. Here is one of mine. The reason I like it this one you can see the one on the left looks very beat. as if he would just like to go home. Also the way they have started to hide the car with straw means they are worried about the red airforce, coupled with the fact that they are wearing the ost mediale means it is later in the eastern campaign...

What do you know about your second, smaller picture? Time, Place, Unit? On the first page of this thread, the wide eyed boy?

very nice picture of the kids in combat, since all we've seen before about them are receiving medals or marching.

This is a picture of soldiers on the Eastern Front in the Battle of Kiev. This picture is full of action and emotion for me.

Don't post photos without making a comment about why you selected that particular photo. Without your personal comment this thread will have little meaning. Also, it's enough if each person post one photo. This thread is not about posting as many photos as possible.

Best regards/ Daniel

I'm choosing this picture, because these are photos you didn't seen often in a war... It's something else, especially with those Waffen-SS soldiers.

I wonder why the officer on the left is wearing two EKII ribbons. HN

Sorry HaEn but I can only see one. There might be a Ostmedaille ribbon underneath though.

Best regards, Daniel

Could a poster of Waffen SS fit here? I know it´s not a photo but it´s one of the most impressive figures I´ve ever seen.
