Hello Pintere
I had already entered Altmann on 9 August 2022 on page 26

Karl Altmann. He got the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold as early as 1942 as a Gefreiter and Richtschütze with 3./Pz.Jg.Abt. 160 (60. Inf.Div. (mot)). As an Unteroffizier he was a gunner of a Jagdpanther of Kampfgruppe Feldherrnhalle XX/14 (not Pz.Jg.Abt. FHH) within the 35. Inf.Div. sector in early March 1945, scoring 8 tank kills on 4.3.1945, including his 42. kill as a gunner
You will find further information there

Awesome! I’ll be more careful with searching the thread for duplicate finds in the future (thankfully most of the time the names in the documents aren’t damaged as in this case).

Hello
I found a newspaper article regarding the Artillerie-PakAbteilung 1039 which, equipped with 88mm, destroyed 35 enemy tanks on 18 July 1944.
Of these, 27 were destroyed by 3 Obergefreiter
Obergefreiter Schieters - 10 kills
Obergefreite Kagginger or Kaddiner - 9 Kills
Obergefreite Konig - 8 kills
https://zeitpunkt.nrw/ulbms/periodical/ ... 0panzer%22
Altenaer Kreisblatt 111 (07/27/1944) 176

This is a further article.

a newspaper article regarding the Artillerie-PakAbteilung 1039
Hi Antonio,

ah, I thought these men were already known here, so some details from my side:

Ogfr. Hans Königs, 1./Art.Pak-Abt. 1039, got the EK2 and EK1 (8 tank kills claimed)
Ogfr. Georg Ragginger, 1./Art.Pak-Abt. 1039, got the EK1 (9 tank kills claimed)
Ogfr. Paul Schwieters, 1./Art.Pak-Abt. 1039, got the EK2 and EK1 (10 tank kills claimed)

I think that these men were the gunners of the 8,8 cm Pak, not the gun commanders, but I'm not 100% sure.

None of these men is to be found within the Volksbund database, so might have survived the war!

Here's a newspaper excerpt regarding Oberleutnant Majuntke, Kompanieführer in the s.Pz.Abt. 505. He destroyed 34 tanks in two months with his Panzer.

Oberleutnant Hans Moeller - Pz.Jg.Kp.1181 - Ehrenblatt on 12/15/1944 for 4 kills
He had many more victories, as he was also awarded the Knight's Cross on 14/04/1945

Good to see that the digitization of that newspaper is finally complete. There's a few others in the process of digitization from the late-war period that will hopefully be available soon.

- Hannoversche Kurier
- Alb-Bote (this is being digitized by the Stuttgart WLB)
- Several newspapers from Hesse (these are being digitized by hebis)

Do you guys know of any others (aside from the all the ones being worked on by Zeitungsportal NRW) that will be digitized in the near future?

Gentlemen,

Were there any newspaper articles about Heinrich Mausberg who had destroyed over 50 Soviet tanks? I know he was little known.
