A-Bomb

Not really. A normal Heer Panzer Division had two Panzer batallions and four PzGren batallions. Additionally, it had an armoured reconnaissaince batallion containing both light armoured vehicles and infantry, a Combat Engineer batallion that was often utilised in an infantry role and a Panzerjäger batallion, who in principle, late in the war, was equipped with armoured vehicles like the Jagdpz. IV. SS Panzer divisions differed from this formula in that they had six PzGren batallions rather than four.

cheers

Lets say like Saving Priavte Ryan, in the end they were fighting the 2nd SS Paner Division right? They had infantry and tanks.

A book called "The German Order of Battle - Infantry in WWII" explains how infantry regiments were organised into division with all their support units in detail, also gives all known actions by the divisions/regiments listed. Also gives a list of the equipment used down to artillery, vehicles and quantities.

Whilst the book listed is a good source of useful information, it's scope for listing actions undertaken either by Division or smaller is limited and in no way are they complete, and for a lot of the units you will only get that information from divisional books/records.

If by "they" you mean the German Army, and by "mechanised" yo mean infantry travelling in armoured vehicles as opposed to in trucks, the answer is no. Normally, only one Panzergrenadier batallion per Panzer division (and none in PzGren divisions) were thus equipped. Additionally, some elements of the reconaissance and Engineer batallions.

cheers
