7. SS Gebirgs Division

#1

Post by David Lehmann » 01 Apr 2002, 12:14

Hello,

In the same vein I have the OoB of the 7. Gebirgs Division but I would like to know its equipment, weapons in late '44 beginning of '45 ... I know that they had old H-39 French tanks by the way.
Could somenone help me ?
In fact it is to make scenarios with the Steel Panthers World At War game.

Are you trying to make a scenario dealing with operation Nordwind and the Colmar pocket?

I don't think that "Prinz Eugen" division fought on the west front, did it ? They were in the Balkans, mainly in Yugoslavia against Tito's partisans and were defeated in Slovenia in 1945 ...
The Feldgrau Site is really cool, it gives good order of battle and historical aspects but I am looking for a detailled report on the armement of the division ... Perhaps in the Nafziger collection if someone has it ?
Mainly I d not need to have every details but :
- Jäger Regiment were mountain/ski troops I think
- what kind of artillery pieces are in the Arty regiment
- what kind of panzer, panzerjäger, assault gun, flak ...
that kind of information.

SS Volunteer Mountain Jager Regiment 13 "Arthur Phelps"
SS Volunteer Mountain Jager Regiment 14 "Skanderbeg"
SS Volunteer Mountain Artillery Regiment 7
SS Panzer Unit 7
SS Panzer Company
SS Mountain Panzerjager Unit 7
SS Cavalry Unit 7
SS Assault Gun Battery 7
SS Flak Unit 7
SS Flak Company
SS Volunteer Mountain Reconnaissance Unit 7 (mot)
SS Panzer Reconnaissance Platoon
SS Cycle Battalion
SS Cycle Reconnaissance Unit 7
SS Mountain Engineer Battalion
SS Mountain Rifle Battalion

best regards,

You are probably thinking about 6. SS-Gebirgs-Division Nord, not 7. SS-Freiwilligen-Gebirgs-Division Prinz Eugen.

Well, it's not done, I have first to find several documents and then I have to find maps of the Srebrenica and Drvar area in Bosnia to make my map ... and I am currently finishing a fictionnal scenario in Normandy 1944 between 1st polish armoured division and the 21. PzD.
So, it is not for tomorrow  and after all these hobbies I better should keep time for my work 8O
Once done I will probably share them on our french SPWAW addicted site http://magonline.free.fr/ or on the corresponding discussion list [email protected] ... all in french for the moment ...
