Coul'd you give me some background info abuot the 106PZ.Gren.Div. "Feldernhalle"
I know tghat only +-300 of them Left Budapest,
Any info abuout the men is welcome.

Well, the number 106 belonged to the 106. Panzer Brigade "Feldherrnhalle," not any divisional unit. Before the war, the SA had its elite, specially trained regiment known by the "FHH" honor title. Most of these men joined the Fallschirmjäger during the war, but some, and some other SA men, ended up in Infanterie Regiment 271, in the 93. ID. This regiment was granted the honor title "FHH" on August 9, 1942.
In February 1943 IR 271 FHH was detached from the 93. ID and sent to France to be part of the rebuilt 60. ID (mot.), which replaced the division destroyed at Stalingrad. Other SA volunteers were sent to the second infantry regiment of the division, which had been IR 244 up through Stalingrad. The new version was retitled IR 120 "FHH." It then became Fusilier Reg. FHH, while the 271 became Grenadier Reg. FHH. On May 22, 1943 the entire division received the FHH title.
The Panzergreandier Division FHH fought in northern Russia, and then was smashed in Belorussia in early summer 1944. Its remnants were joined with the 109. Panzer Brigade in the autumn to form the Panzer Division FHH. Meanwhile, the 13. Panzer Division had absorbed a FHH replacement unit in the spring of 1944. That autumn, it was joined with the 110. Panzer Brigade FHH. Both divisions had much of their strength encircled and lost at Budapest between December 1944 and February 1945.
From the remnants and other elements was formed the Panzerkorps FHH, based on the headquarters of the IV. Panzerkorps. which had not had the chance to assume command of the two divisions in Budapest. But it was functional by February 1945, and controlled the Panzer Division FHH 1 (former PD FHH) and Panzer Division FHH 2 (fomer 13. PD) along with sPanzer Abteilung FHH (former sPA 503). The divisions were understrength to begin with, but gave their best for the last months of the war.
Almost all of this information is from Alfonso Escuadra Sanchez's book "Feldherrnhalle : Forgotten Elite" which is published in English by Shelf Books, and was originally written in Spanish for Garcia Hispan Editor.
