Hello Gentlemen!

About the pictures that member Javichu posted. I recognize Feldherrnhalle 1.jpg as being Major Wilhelm Schöning who recieved the Knight's Cross on 07.02.1944 while commanding I./Füs.Rgt. "FHH". Schöning later recieved the Oakleaves on 21.01.1945 while commanding Pz.GR 66.

But who is the younger Feldherrnhalle Officer and RKT in photo Feldherrnhalle3.jpg? Any identification would be most welcome...

Regards,

Krollspell

Hi Panzeralex,

Thanks for the super pics. but how reliable are the ID's. 13PD only had 1 Bef V (for II/PR4) in Budapest. AJ9 has been subject of much discussion with no conclusion. The most likely reason for J is maintenance officer (Instandetzungs). Only 6/PR4 was equipped with Panther.

Stugs. were not artillery weapons although 24PD was using StuHaub 42's in PzAR for a while in 1944. 13PD certainly did not have any.

Regards,

Roger

Did you know that the members of sPzAbt. 503 were not happy to be renamed to "FHH" and even denied to wear the cuff titles ?

Yes Jan. 13PD was totally underwhelmed by being renamed PD FHH2 also.

Roger
