Impressive list

You wrote, no trace for No 11 - Flottmanville hague. There are loads of photos of it in my book. The info is for 11a, not 11.

About Flakgruppe Creil, se my earlier post in this thread.

Versorgungs Stellen - never built

1028 - Montebourg
1029 - Saint-Jaques-de-Néhou

Are these really correct? Im thinking of the commadn post information, since these sites are on the Cotentin. VII, should be VIII

Nr. 858 Tamerville – Command Post 4. Battr. VII/155 (W)
Nr. 860 Négreville (some earthwork) – Command Post 3. Battr. VII/155(W)
Nr. 864 Orglandes (No trace) - Command Post VII Abt./155 (W)

Hello RS1800

I have compiled the informations from different sources, also information from this topic, and tried to puzzle them into known sites - we of cource will have to prove these informations from correct sources.

The info you mention, comes from your own posting:
RS 1800 wrote:Thanks for that link, that seems to confirm that there where a IV and VIII abteilung on the Cotentin.

In 1944 it would have looked something like this:

IV. Abteilung, Command Post at Château de Martinvast

1. Batterie, Command Post at Nouainville

- Wasserwerk: No. 2
- Stellungen alter Bauart (Large sites): No. 11, 12, 13 and 14.
- Midsize sites: No. 245
- Light sites: No. 143, 144, 145, 146 and 147

2.Batterie, Command Post at château de l'Ermitage

- Stellungen alter Bauart (Large sites): No. 15, 16, 17 and 18.
- Light sites: No. 139, 140, 141 and 148.

VII. Abteilung, Command Post at Orglandes

1. Batterie, Command Post at St-Savueur-le-Vicomte.

- Light sites: No. 223, 224, 225, 230 and 231.

2. Batterie, Command Post at Quettot

- Light sites: No. 226, 229, 239, 241 and 242.

3. Batterie, Command Post at Négreville

- Light sites: No. 227, 228, 237, 238 and 240.

4. Batterie, Command Post at Tamerville

- Light sites: No. 232, 233, 234, 235 and 236.

There should also have been.

Versorgungs-Stellen

1008 - Bricquebec
1009 - Valognes/Yvetot-Bocage

Wasserwerk

2 - Équeurdreville-Hainnville

(Source: Grenville, Les armes secretes de Allemandes Les V1)

There are a few good maps in this book, also maps of all V1 sites on the Cotentin
You write in your first line Abt. VIII - but in the text you refer to Abt. VII - i think that what rises the question, and that it shall actually be Abt. VIII - thanks.

If not correct i will certainly make corrections in "my listing" ?? ( Yes, i know that you are "guessing" on that one :) - !! )

The sites 1028 / 1029 i will add into the list as "never buildt" - OK, thanks for the correction.

This is only preliminary listing, we will in the end have to refer to / with proper sources from archives or other reliable sources.

Regards
Kurt

Hello "RichT090"

So what? - What way is that to ask ? :)

See, thats just the question here, trying to find out - arent we !!

For the "Sources":

They were ment as general sources to articles, where there is a lot of information of the V-1 sites in France, thats why !!

As for the where abouts of Flakregiment 155 (W) not "255" - did you read ALL the former posts ??

And - Do you have anything to add to the questions asked there?? Maybe you have someting in your files or archives ?

Sorry, my fault, I didn't realize I had left that part of your post quoted. I wasn't questioning your sources, I was just curious if anyone had any details available on Flak 255 (W), which seems to get missed a lot?

Hello again

And..you are right !!! We are "hunting" the Flakregiment 155 (W) and the Abteilungen I to IX, of which the talk is about the Abt. V to IX ??

They existed alright, but where and when were they in action. There is a lot of loose ends in this, and thats just what intrigues me, and leads me / us to further research into this area of operational units of the V1.

Not to speak of the units of the V2 - V2 and the other V-Weapons systems, but we are also wainting to, as where the Moderator desides on opening a section on V-Weapons !!!!!!

I for one have a lot of questions, and if i bring them in this tread it will just muddle the discussion, as they are to both V1, V2 and V3 operations / units - we need to have a divided section just for V-Weapons Systems and their units.

As to Flakregiment 155 (W) we also need the War Diary of this unit, does anybody know anything about where it can be found ( BA-MA for sure, does someone have the Archive number available ) or does any of you have it ??

JOS was talking about: Quote.

"There is some info in the BaMa Freiburg
Flak-Regiment 155(W) RL 12/76"

Unquote.

Jos, is that the RL 12/76 for the War Diary - you also referred to it in a later posting on page one ??

And can other info on V-Weapons also be found under BA-MA RL 12 ??

What about the V2 and V3 - they were run by the Army / SS - and then it is another Archive, RH right ?

Hello

Just for a update on what´s in progress. From the sources and referencelist mentioned in before postings i have received the following book / referenceworks:

Wilhelm Hellmold: "Die V1 - Eine Dokumentation"
Norman Longmate: "Hitlers Rockets - The Story of the V2s"
Phillip Henshall: "Hitlers Rocket Sites"
Ralf Schabel: "Die Illusion der Wunderwaffen"
Botho Stüwe: "Peenemünde West"

John D. Cantwell: "The Second World War - A Guide To Documents in the Public Record Office"

Joachim Ludewig: "Der Deutsche Rückzug aus Frankreich 1944"

Until now, i can tell, that there are loads of information about Flakgruppe Creil - Flak.Reg. 155 (W) and other units involved in V1 and V2 operations in France, Holland and Germany.

I will make a resume of the most significant informations, and of course bring them here.

As to Flak.Reg. 155 (W) the Gliederung shows that there were I to IX Abteilungen from the spring of 1943 until the Invasion 6. June 1944 but that V - IX was destroyed right before or during the Invasion.

After 6. June 1944 there were only I to IV Abteilung who operated to the North of France and then moved into Holland where they operated in thearea of Almelo / Zupthen - and at last retreated into Germany where they operated near Trier and NE of Bonn firing on Antwerpen and Brussel in support for the Ardennes offensive in the autumn 1944 and until spring 1945.

At 20-3-1945 they had a "Neugliederung" into the SS (KAMMLER) and was formed as 5. Flak.Div. - Lehr-und Versuchs Regiment ( Sonder Battalion 2 ) they were mostly proceeding the operations with deployment of V1 from airplanes ( Als Flug-Bomben).

I will be back later with more detaile listing.

Kurt

Hi Kurt,
What exactly was Flakgruppe Creil - Flak.Reg. 155 (W) ? The cover name for a V-1 formation or a Flak Gruppe protecting a V-1 formation.
Our French friends have all kinds of indicators of unknown V-1 activity in the area.
