Apart from "Lotzen" and "Goldap" was there also Brigade "Konigsberg" or such unit didn't exist?

Which units of the Fortress "Konigsberg" took part in operations in Poland?

Some sources (Niehorster) say that apart from Ldw.-Inf.Rgt.161 and 162 also Grenzwacht-Rgt.41 was part of Brigade "Lotzen". This would increase its strength to some 15,300 men since even without this it numbered some 12,800 men (companies in battalions of Ldw.-IR.161 and 162 were probably organized in accordance to KStN 131(Lw) - 217 men in company - which means that each of its 8 Ldw. battalions alone numbered ca. 939 - 983 men).

In general it seems that "Lotzen" was closer to infantry division in size than to brigade.

Germans used to name much smaller units "divisions" (for example 301. Inf.Div. - also known as Brigade "Netze" - which if my calculations are correct and if its infantry companies were organized according to KStN 53(G) instead of according to authorized strength of companies of 3rd Wave Inf. divisions - numbered ca. 6,500 men).

Albrecht was Kdr. Gruppe Brand, Fritz was Kdr. 78.ID
Apart that I too have a question
Nolte was reported as Kdr. Brig. Goldap, but in PV. he is listed as Kdr. Landw.Inf.Rgt. 152. So did he command both units at the same time ?
(Or, if he commanded the Brigade, who stood in for him at the Ldw.IR. ?)
Was the Brigade composed simply/mainly of the reinforced Ldw.IR.152 ? If so, reinforced with which other unit ?

Hi Rossano,

One more follow up, from volume 2 of Burkhart Mueller-Hillebrand's Das Heer, page 18.

He shows Gruppe Brand having the following units subordinated:

-Fest. Tr. Lötzen
-Brigade Goldap
-and border troops Abschnitten 41 and 61

Fest. Tr. Lötzen is described as having a strength approaching that of a Landwehr infantry division.

Brigade Goldap is described as having the following units subordinated:

-Fest. Tr. Königsberg
-Border troops Abschnitt 51
-Four battalions of Landesschützen (from Ersatzheer)
-One light artillery Abteilung (from Ersatzheer)
-One antitank Abteilung from army troops

Cheers

This URL in the "German docs in Russia" site covers Brigade Lötzen:

Unfortunately, it looks like the someone attempted to destroy the document and only the center of the pages is left. Still some interesting bits in it.
