Armenian infantry-battalion 810

Post by Sturmschwein » 20 Jun 2021 15:56

Hello,

I am looking for any information about the armenian battalion 810. It was formed in 1942 in Pulawy (generalgouvernemt) and had the feldpostnummer 34428.

Some sources claimed that the Battalion was involved in the Battle of Corsun-Cherkassy. Was it involved in any other operations on the eastern front?

Thank you

Thank you for your answer. Are there any sources that this Battalion was already send to france in october 1943? In the war diary of the 4th guard army from feburary 1944 it is mentioned that the Battalion was around Corsun-Cherkassy.

In the DRK-missing-list some of the german personal were also around Cherkassy before getting missed (page SO 469)

I would really like to know where it operated on the eastern front and in which other operations it was involved

hello

actually the French sources associate this n°810 with the Battalion of the Armenian Legion in Lozère Dept. and february 1944 is precisely the creation in France of the 5 regiments of Freiwilligen Stamm Division that it was a component

However the Lexikon doesn't seem to say the opposite
http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Gli ... derung.htm

Hello together,

I have another question regarding armenian Battalion 810.

According to Lexikon der Wehrmacht it was under the 24. Armee on the swiss Border in 1945.

https://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Gl ... Btl810.htm

I couldn't find out if this is actually true since Lexikon der Wehrmacht don't give any source and for some reason Armenian 810 is impossible to find in Schematische Gliederung after october 1944. Is it maybe possible to find out the operational history of that unit in germany?

If it helps, the Feldpostnummer was 34428.

Any help would be very appreciated,

Greetings

No information on the unit's operations, but "lexikon" appears to have taken the 24. Armee assignment from Tessin's work.

Add: Frontnachweiser of 15 December 1944 shows the 810. with Freiwilligenstamm-Rgt. 2.

Cheers
