Quite right, my bad. :o

A member of Croatian Air Force Legion was imprisoned by Gestapo for an awful crime of being of Russian descent. He was subsequently turned over to the Ustaša interrogation service and periodically released and imprisoned. He found his way back to the ZNDH (NDH Air Force) and eventually commanded 16. zrakoplovno jato. He defected in a Breguet 19/8 on 23. October 1943 to Tortorella airfield, and joined the RAF 352 sqn. KIA on 16. October 1944 when his Spitfire was hit by flak near Slano. Name the ill-fated gentleman.

I guess the question was a bit specific.
He lost his left ear during the "interrogations".
I'll post his name tomorow if there are no replies.

Yes, thats right. He was a Hauptmann(Captain) during his short stay in the legion.
And here I was thinking up more simple a question. :)
