From a South African Renegade Warning List from 1946, there was a Private S.M. Dube (Service Number N-21442) who was a African Native serving with an unknown South African unit who according to "several affidavits... was seen wearing German uniform with side arms. He had considerable liberty and is said to have made attempts to recruit non-European Ps.W. for the German Army." The file went on to state that Dube was the "only Native case which would prove a good High Treason prosecution". Nothing else is stated in the file.
