Hi Phil,

The updates are based on my research from the Latvian Army Personnel files, so they only cover their service in the Latvian Army. Therefore, regarding Dolmanis, there is no new info from my post viewtopic.php?p=2133727#p2133727

Regarding Arvids Neimanis, I have nothing in my records about his service in the Latvian Legion, but given his age, it would have been strange if he had not served. Below are the updated Latvian Army service records for both Neimanis and Lasmanis.

Aleksandrs LASMANIS
Standartenführer der Waffen-SS

Latvian Army Service:
22.III.1920 - 13.IV.1920: Commandant, Cesvaine District
13.IV.1920 - 1.VII.1921: Commandant and Defence Commander of Ludza
1.VII.1921 - 1.IV.1925: Commander of Ludza Military Region
1.IV.1925 - 15.XII.1926: Commander of Jaunlatgale Military Region
15.XII.1926 - VII.1940: Commander of Riga Military Region

Promotions:
21.III.1921: Lt. Colonel
22.VI.1925: Colonel

Arvids Jānis NEIMANIS
born: 4 May 1903 in Bolderaja
Died: 14 February 1955 in Montreal, Canada

Latvian Army service:
1 IX.1926 - 1.X.1936: served in the Vidzeme Artillery Regiment
1.X.1936 - 7.IV.1938: served in the Artillery Laboratory
7.IV.1938 - 11.XI.1939: Senior Engineer, Artillery Laboratory
11.XI.1939 - IX.1940: Senior Engineer, Armaments Dept., Supply Administration, Ministry of War

Promotions:
11.XI.1929: 1st Lieutenant
13.V.1937: Captain
11.XI.1939: Lt. Colonel

Kind regards,

VJK

Thanks Valdis.
I was thinking Thatcher LASMANIS was only ostubaf but you confirm he was staf. Do you have pictures of both?
Regards.

Phil

Hi Phil,

I don't have a pic of Neimanis, but you'll find a pic of Lasmanis here: viewtopic.php?p=1103670#p1103670

Since Lasmanis was a Colonel from 1925 already, he would have entered the Legion as a Staf.

Kind regards,

Valdis

Hi Phil,

My research at the Archives has been into the personnel files of Latvian Army officers from Lt. Colonel upwards, so unfortunately I can't help you with the Stubaf. you mention. Sorry about that. If you require updated bio updates of any Ostubaf. and upwards, please don't hesitate to ask.

Kind regards,

Valdis
