Hi Juanjo!

Lt. Col. Janis Olafs Lapsa - arrested and deported by the Soviets in 1941, died in a labour camp in 1952.

Lt. Col. Fridrichs Reslers - repatriated to Germany in 1939, served as an Oberst in the Wehrmacht, KIA in Jan 1945.

Lt. Col. Jekabs Varens - Intendant of the 16. Zemgale Schuma Battalion, died of illness in May 1942.

Hi VJK

For Karlis Ziverts (1888 - 1970) - who serve at the general inspection. Did he was Ostubaf ?
As it's the first time I heard speaking of him, do you have more infos and, perhaps, a photo of him.

For latvian officers "repatriated" to Germany and serving in Wehrmacht, I suppose because they were batic germans.
Am I right?

Thanks

Phil.

Not only baltic germans repatriated to Germany in 1939/40, but at least in Estonia also many estonians who were related to some degree to germans, faked documents were also used. The reason was understandable, I think.

Thank you VJK.

For Juanjo, I' sorry but I have nothing on these officers, no DoB, no DoD and no photo.
They are in my list of "unknown" officers for those I only found the name into books or on web.

For VJK

On a latvian military site (lacpleisis) I have found a certain L.k.o.k. A. Kleinbergs who was commander of the
Army Post Batalion. I was thinking he was "our" Alberts Kleinbergs but perhaps I was wrong.

I'm searching info and a photo of Ostubaf Voldemārs SAULĪTE who was, I think' commander of the pionnier bataillon 19.

Regards

Phil.

Thank you VJK

Have you info on latvian military chaplains
Jūlijs STRAUME (division 15, lutheran)
Verners VOITKUS (division 19 lutheran)
Kazimirs RUČS (roman catholic for the 2 divisions)
I think they were assimilated to officers (surely Stubaf like in other foreign units like walloon, french, ukrainian and bosnian).
Did they were military chaplain into latvian army before the war ?

Phil.
