Thanks for the correction. By the way, regarding the "Russians" from the Wallonie division, aren't they White emigres?

regarding Rudolf Martinson

with message from the 30.08.1944 he was as Major Verbindungsoffizier estn. at the staff of the Küstenverteidigungsabschnitt Peipus.

Here is the french high SS officers I have identified :

-Ostubaf. Louis BOURGUEL : Born 10.09.1892 . Doctor officer, enlisted in légion Tricolore in 1942, LVF 16.04.1943 . Enlisted in Waffen-SS in october 1943. Ersatzkommando der Frankreich at Paris. Maybe military hospital at the end of the war. Death in 1961 .
-Stubaf. Pierre CANCE : Born 28.06.1907 in Le Bousquet. Délégué général of the Milice Française. Enlisted in Waffen-SS in october 1943. Bad Tölz (january to march 1944). Hstuf : 10.03.1944 . Commander of Ist battalion of 8.Französische-SS-Freiwilligen-Sturmbrigade. EK I . Stubaf. 23.09.1944 . Instructor at Neweklau. Death in august 1988.
-Stubaf. Joseph DARNAND : Born 19.03.1897 in Coligny. Chief of the Milice Française. Enlisted in Waffen-SS in august 1943, with Ostuf. rank. But never commit to combat or duty service. Stubaf. : 01.11.1944 . Executed 10.10.1945 .
-Ostubaf. Paul GAMORY-DUBOURDEAU : Born 29.01.1885 in Ploudalmézeau. Cadre member of the PPF (PDoriot). Enlised in Waffen-SS in 1943, quickly promote to Hstuf. Bad Tolz (january to march 1944). Stubaf. : 10.03.1944 . Commander of 8.Französische-SS-Freiwilligen-Sturmbrigade (march to august 1944) . Commdander of the Waffen-Grenadier-Regiment der SS 57 (septembrer to december 1944). SS-Hauptamt in 1945 . Death 10.03.1963 .

-Stubaf. Jean BOUDET-GHEUSI : Born 26.07.1904 in Tarbes. Enlisted in Légion Tricolore, and LVF, Hauptmann of the Ist battailion (staff company, 1st company). Hstuf. 01.0.1944, Stubaf. 20.02.1945 . Commander of the Waffen-Panzerjäger-Abteilung der SS 33. Death 19.12.1969 .
-Stubaf. Jean BRIDOUX : Born 16.11.1911 in Versailles. Commander of the Ist Battalion of the LVF from november 1943 to august 1944. EK II & EK I .
Commander of the Waffen-Grenadier-Regiment der SS 58 (september to december 1944). Resigns in december 1944. Suicide in jail the 14.07.1945 .
-Stubaf. Jacques DORIOT : Born 26.09.1898 in Bresles. Chief of the Parti Populaire Français. Enlisted in LVF in 1941, as Unteroffizier . Promoted to Leutnant, and Oberleutnant. Intelligence officer of the IIIth Battalion. EK II . Pass to Waffen-SS as Ostuf. Quickly promoted to Stubaf. (09.11.1944). Killed in his car, 22.02.1945, by anglo planes.
-Stubaf. Max LELONGT : Born 16.06.1886 in Paris. Medical officer of the IIIth Battalion of the LVF (december 1941 to august 1944), as a Major. EK II . Chief of the office IV/B (medical) of the brigade/division "Charlemagne". Survive to war.
-Stubaf. Jean MAYOL De LUPE : Born 21.01.18973 in Paris. Chaplain of the LVF (1941-1944), as a Hauptmann. EK II . Office IV/D (chaplain) of the brigade/division Charlemagne. Death 28.06.1955 .
-Obf. Edgar PUAUD : Born 29.10.1889 at Orléans . Commander of the LVF /638 Infanterie Regiment (september 1943 to august 1944), as Oberst. EK II & EK I. Commander of the brigade/division "Charlemagne" (september 1944 to 05.03.1945). Disappear 05.03.1945 (probably death).

-Ostubaf. Emile RAYBAUD : Born 19.05.1910 in Trans. High ranking member of the Franc-Garde (Milice Française). Hstuf. in november 1944, Stubaf. 20.02.1945, Ostubaf. march 1945 . Commander of the Waffen-Grenadier-Regiment der SS 58 (december 1944 to march 1945). EK I . Death 07.09.1995 .
-Stubaf. Jean De VAUGELAS : Born 02.01.1913 in Paris. Regional chief of the Milice Française of Marseille (six departments) from february to mai 1943. High ranking member of the Franc-Garde . Hstuf. in november 1944, Stubaf. 20.02.1945 . Chief of Staff (office I/A) of the brigade/division Charlemagne. Death in car accident in Argentina, 02.05.1950 .

After research, I haven't found evidence of EK I award to the Sturmbrigade France, after the fighting in Galicia, given that Cance fought in Galicia, when he could receive, the EK I ?

Robert Forbes says that Ustuf. Robert LAMBERT (posthumous) and Hstuf. Pierre CANCE receive EK I after Galicia fights.
He says that Rttf. Marc BRIAND receives EK I, but it is probably an error, Briand receive only EK II (source : Robert Soulat).

PS : your file is not really a proof, but yes, maybe Cance has only EK II.
