Hi!

On the back of this picture all the names of the participants to this course have signed their names. Unfortunately they are a bit difficult to read. Here are finns, swedes, norwegians and danes together.

Can anybody try to read their names. The names are in three colums from left to right. The first row I can not read any names;

1)
2)
3)
4)
5)
6)
7)

In the second row from top I have these names:

1) Paul
2) Odd TORDARSON
3) Rolf KNUDSRUD
4) R. THETING-JOHANSEN
5)
6) Arne BERGSTRØM
7) Fridtjof
8) Erik Folke FLOGNFELDT
9) Per SUNDE (SS Uscha)
10) Trygve
11) Hans

In the third row from top I have these names:

1)??? (Lehrgangsleiter)
2) WEDEKIND (Stabsscharführer)
3)
4) Thorkell TILLMANN
5) S. RIIS KNUDSEN
6) Åke LINDQVIST
7) Walter TOLLEFSEN
8) Chr. ANDRESEN
9) Sakari JÄRVINEN

Even more interesting, can these individuals be identified on this picture?

From left to right front row;

1) Per SUNDE (SS-Uscha)
4) Odd TORDARSON
7) Erik FLOGNFELDT
12) WEDEKIND

Hi Bjorn -

The Stabsscharfuehrer's name appears to be Wedekind.

Do you know exactly what this course was about? What was the curriculum?

George

I believe that the ‘Politische Führerschule’ in Potsdam-Babelsberg was the predecessor of the ‘Politische Führerschule’ located at the ‘Germanische Haus’ in Hannover, that was later moved to the ‘Haus Germanien’ in Hildesheim. The ‘Politische Führerschule’ was organised by the SS-Hauptamt, the purpose of the ‘Politische Führerschule’ seems obvious. The participants of the ‘Politische Führerschule’ where members of the SS (Waffen-SS or Germanische-SS), there where so called Germanic participants, from Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Flanders and Wallonia, but there where also French participants.
I think I have a copy of the same photograph at home, with the names of the Flemish participants.
A friend of mine has the Aufbruch-book, probably signed by participants of the ‘Politische Führerschule’ in Hildesheim:

Hi Regiment Norge. My father, Per Sunde(from Stryn, born 1916, dead 1986), also mentioned in the very recently published book "Nådeløse nordmenn," is the man no. 1 from the left side in the picture. I have been to Riksarkivet (National Archive in Oslo) and read through his folder, so I know much about his war history (NS, Oslo Policeman, adjutant for Quisling, front-fighter/frontkjemper etc., landssvikoppgjøret with him etc). I see this picture of him first time today! Quite a shock! Where did you get this picture from? From Riksarkivet in Oslo? Or a private one? If you feel comfortable with it, would you please tell me how you are connected to this "case"/picture? Only general interest? If you have some additional information (or picture) about my father, I would really appreciated it. I live in Norway, på indre Østlandet. I am 5o years old. Have a godd day! Grüss von Arnold1962

Thanks Michael, but this letter from SS KB Standarte Eggers is to another later course at Babelsberg. Were have you found this letter?

Another name is 1 on top of the middle row could be Paul BENZ from switzerland.

No, it's about a course in Hildesheim. (see my previous post) I wanted to generalize this topic. I'm interested in all information about the Politische Führerlehrgänge.
