Hi Wim,
Thank you very much,
I don't have any information about the officer courses that these men followed and they aren't mentioned in the SS-Verordnungs- or -Personalveränderungsblätter.

Hello Michael,
I do not know it either.
If you look at the Führerliste from John Moore (the word docs A,B,C, ...) for Dams, De Vriesere, Van der borght thats where i got the info from.
Mayby the others are also mentioned in that general list.

Re: Flemish SS-Untersturmführer
Karel Beeckman and Gilbert De Witte where both Leutnant in the ‘Flämische Wachabteilung’. The ‘Flämische Wachabteilung’ was a Flemish security unit in the uniform of the Wehrmacht (Heer). After the allied liberation, the unit moved to Germany and both men joined the Waffen-SS.
They where send to the SS-Art.Schule II Beneschau, to attent the 13. Kriegs-Res.-Junker-Lehrgang.

Joseph Marien grew up in Flanders, but I'm pretty sure he had the Dutch nationality.

Hi Wim,
The document says so.
If you are born in a country you automatically get the nationality of that country.
The question is if his parents had the Belgian nationality.

Re: Flemish SS-Untersturmführer
Hello Michael,
A Flemish born in France buried in germany fought with the Flemish Flak is now buried in France 'mort pour la patrie' as a Hero.
So they also noted the nationalty because he was born in Rotterdam. A common mistake made more than once.

Hello Michaël,
Thanks for the compliment.
The picture is taken from the following archive:
Nationaal Archief, Nederlandse Rode Kruis – Gravendienst, nummer archiefinventaris 2.19.316, inventarisnummer 1034. It involves Dutch casulaties in war time, who lost their dutch citizenship.
If you're interested, let me know.

Re: Flemish SS-Untersturmführer
Hi Wim,
I've asked a copy of his "persoonskaart" at CBG (Centrum voor familiegeschiedenis). It will take some weeks, but then we'll now for sure.
