This is probably a soldier from the ZFI (Zentrale Freis Indien - Free India Centre) in Berlin which was the provisional Indian Government HQ headed by Subhas Chandra Bose (he left Europe in 1942 and all ministerial duties were taken by Staatsminister ACN Nambiar).
He also probably the Indian legionnaire mentioned by SS Oscha WillI Rogmann (who commanded the Kampfgruppe Rogmann during the Battle of Berlin - see Tony Le Tissier's Battle of Berlin).
Interestingly, I actually had a picture of a list of POWs taken by the Soviet and one of the rows show a single Indian national taken as POW. I can't remember where I downloaded this picture since it was more than 10 over years ago but tonight I will try to find it and post it. I am just wondering if this Indian POW was the same Indian legionnaire that was captured during the Battle of Berlin.
