Spanish volunteers 1941-1945
Blue Division postcards
Here you have two postcards I got last week. They are packed in the envelop below, with a double text (spanish and german) saying: 12 Aufnahmen einer deutschen Propaganda-Kompanie", 12 photos taken by a german propaganda company. There appears a code on the reverse: 238 VI XX 5012 III/0005. The General Muñoz Grandes commander of the Division during 1941/1942 (General Muñoz Grandes, der tapfere und erfolgreiche Kommandeur der Spanischen-Division in den Jahren 1941 und 1942), and a shot showing the spanish pioneers (Pioniere der Spanischen Division).
Hope you enjoy them. More to come. Óscar

Andy, it´s the "Medalla Militar Individual" (individual military badge). This one and the "Laureada de San Fernando" are the most important spanish badges.
Muñoz Grandes was an important element in the Franco´s government ("régimen"). After the Russian experience, he became commander of the 1st Military Region; in the 60s, Defence Minister and, finally, Deputy Prime Minister. He died on 11 July 1970.
He was supposed to be too "dangerous" for Franco´s interests (during the last "chapter" of the war) because of his affinity for Germany. In fact, he knew them very well, and was tactical adviser with Canaris. Furthermore, he was awarded with the RK... This shows Muñoz´s good relationship and approval in Germany (the one that Esteban Infantes didn´t get).
Regards. Óscar

Hi,
The German and Spanish propaganda departments issued about four different Blue Division post card sets. These cards are also listed in different colors from light blue to yellow brown color.
I have one duplicate Spanish Blue Division set with sleeve for sale if anybody is interested. Unfortunately is missing one card of 12 card sets still rare set of cards to get.
