Necros thanks again. Yeah, there was atleast one meeting and at least one pic has survived. I belive the original is in US and copies are available world over but not on net.

these legion people--they were the one before whom "Jai Hind" Hail India was adopted as Indian salutation. The free India Govt was forced to adopt it as Indian salute and today all of us, including the Army, offcially use it. Bose adopted "Jana Gana Mana" as Indian national anthem in Germany. This is now India's national anthem.

...and

http://www.3sat.de/3sat.php?http://www. ... men/49222/

talks about first ever movie on Bose "Netaji: Last Hero" set to release in 2-3 months.

the guy in the middle is the actor playing Bose. Bearded fellow is Shyam Bengal, the director. Benegal makes nice movies. After Satyajit Ray, if any Indian movie director stands to win an Oscar, it's him. Incidentally Benegal's uncle would have become first INA pilot had things worked in Bose's favour. There was a plan to get some Royal Air Force pilots to defect. Rumors have it that free India's first Air Chief Subrato Mukherjee, a Bengali, was one of them. Mukherjee died in harness in circumstances that were suspicious.

Bose had many sympthsisers in British Indian armed forces. they did not revolt as Bose had expected, but they did express discomfirt. THe INA and Legion men and women, rated war criminal, were let off by the British for fear that it might anger the Indian armed forces, their tool to rule India. So in the end Bose managed to do what he had wnated to.

What do you mean Sikhs were 'created' ? To protect Hindus from whom? Mughals?

..Yo. This is not to say that Sikhs havent had a seperate identity.

"Sikh" reminds me that of all Bose's cabinet men only Pritam Singh is alive. Dhillon is on his deathbed, but he was not in Cabinet.

btw, what do u think of Sachin Khedekar as Netaji? To me he looks fine. Kelly Dorji, Miss World Lara Dutta's boyfriend is playing Tojo. i forgot the name of the guy playing hitler.
